I was featured fairly prominently in a recent CNET article titled “Help! I can’t program my car.” The story centered on how new cars are are becoming increasingly computerized and that snazzy new features now require a significant amount of set up and configuration in order to achieve maximum benefit. The story came out of an IM conversation I had with another CNET reporter a few day before….

I had just purchased a new car and quickly realized that I was spending considerable time setting up preferences and defaults – not to mention copying music over to the integrated hard drive. In a lot of ways, it reminded me of the last time I set up a new laptop. So, long story short, he forwarded our conversation to another reporter, we talked a few times, and there’s the story. OK, I’m a geek, but I CAN program my car and I’m actually reveling in the tech features of the new ride (Infiniti G35). In fact, the technical features where what sold me on the car in the first place. While it has taken quite a bit of time to master the user interface and learn all the ins and outs, I’m getting solid use out of almost every feature and am really enjoying the car. Good article from CNET, take a look at it….
